I always envisioned myself being the mom who still meal prepped and took care of her health the exact way she did pre-baby. Truth is, I don’t have 3 hours to chop food for the week, season, cook it, and place it in containers. Those days are long gone and THAT’S OKAY. . THIS is my new normal. . This journey of motherhood has helped me be more present. It has taught me to live in each moment. My world will not fall apart if every meal isn’t planned, every dish isn’t washed, all the clothes aren’t folded and put away...life goes on. . It’s funny, when the Universe brought Joe and I back together again, I was reading a book called The 5 Love Languages. I mentioned it in passing to @j0ey_beck , and to my surprise he wanted to read it too. . Two years and a baby later, we are still utilizing the knowledge we gained from this book. Only now, we’ve gone way more in depth, and we realize how truly powerful these love languages are. . Last night, Joe was on fire with his love language game🔥 For both of us, Acts of Service and Quality Time are two of the top ways we receive love. So how did Joe do it? How did he show me he loved me last night? . Earlier in the day, I had been talking about wanting to make celery juice so that I could start drinking some every morning. I took a shower, walked downstairs and this man was making us celery juice WHILE watching Noah😍 I put Noah to bed, went back downstairs and Joe had made us the most delicious soup (and crushed my crackers for me). He then put on a show for us to cuddle up and watch together, and he even did the dishes. Ummmm hellooo 🔥🔥🔥 Could I feel anymore loved?!? . To someone who’s primary love languages are not the same as mine, these things could seem insignificant. But to me, it shows that Joe was truly thinking about me, finding ways to relieve my stress, wanting to spend time together, and paying attention when I spoke earlier in the day. . We both realize how vital this tool (and sooo many others) are to a happy, fun, long-term relationship, and that’s why we’ve created an online Relationship Course! Always with the fingers in the mouth, lol Everything we hand him, goes right in there for him to chomp on. So far, this teething stage hasn’t been awful. He’s overall a super happy baby! . Because so many moms recommended it, we got the Amber Baltic necklace for when times get tough. It took me a while to realize that those newborn cuddles wouldn’t last forever. I thought I’d always be able to scoop my baby up, and hold him whenever I wanted. . Now that Noah is 6 months old, he wants to always be on the move! Kiddo doesn’t stop. He wants to bounce, roll over, play with toys, grab my hair, practice crawling...etc. There’s many times where I try to get him to cuddle and he wants nothing to do with it lol . So new moms and dads: enjoy those long days with your baby as your feed him in the rocker. Enjoy the 2am feedings where he just wants to be in your arms. Enjoy holding them as they sleep and looking at every miraculous detail of their tiny being. . I know it may seem like you’re isolated and locked away in the nursery. Like you have no time for yourself to even shower or eat a meal. But I can promise you, that those moments with your newborn will bond you in ways you can’t even describe. Growing up, I always wanted to do what Mediums could do...bring healing messages to others. I can remember watching the Long Island Medium and crying during every episode.
